After a shocking year full of worries about Covid-19 and not being able to enjoy our planned overseas holiday, our family was really looking forward to getting out of Sydney over New Year. With several Covid hotspots erupting just after Christmas, we were fearful Sydney-siders would be banned from travelling to regional NSW (and rightly so). Luckily my husband and I, along with our 19 year old daughter and 12 year old mini fox terrier, managed to keep the booking we’d made at Lavender Cottage earlier in the year. What a delight it was! We spent a truly relaxing week – the cottage had plenty of room to comfortably meet all our needs. The drizzly weather meant some of us could watch DVDs in one room, another listen to the well stocked CD collection in another, whilst our daughter had the option of spending time away from us when she chose to, in the separate granny flat (with her own bathroom!). The place really was a home away from home with absolutely everything you could need. I thoroughly recommend it!

Our family had a wonderful week at Monica’s Cottage. Beautiful location, great views and very laid back. It felt like a home away from home rather than a holiday rental. Facilities are well maintained and the separate granny flat made it a perfect place to stay with my Mum and Dad. We are hoping to return!

Monica’s cottage is warm and welcoming. It has that home away from home feel about it, and we felt the cottage’s calm as soon as we entered the front door. The facilities are well keep and maintained, with a full kitchen and outdoor area for BBQ’ing. In addition, there is a separate granny flat – space for another small family or friends to stay and also relax and unwind The Tuross area is just as beautiful as the cottage its self, with a great view to the water from the back deck. Only a short walk from the cottage is the wonderful Tuross Head Boatshed, go here for fish and chips and an evening drink down by the water maybe even drop a line in. You can also get onto the walking/cycle path with a few minutes walk from the cottage.

If you are looking to escape the madness that is everyday living, if even only for a night or two, I can recommend Monica’s cottage.

Our family was so lucky to have chosen this beautiful and quaint house for our winter vacation retreat. We were looking to escape the fast paced city, relax, unwind, and spend quality family time with our 8 month old daughter. Well, we did just that! Tuross Head was wonderfully welcoming and quiet with plenty of relaxing things to do, even during the winter. We went on long
walks with our daughter in the pram, had coffees and treats in town, ate fabulous fish and chips on a floating dock, played on the beach shore, and went on nature trails exploring all of the wildlife. Most of all we loved being at the house with its beautiful views and cozy homey atmosphere. We cooked delicious meals in the amazing kitchen, BBQed on the huge patio, read books on the deck lounges, and played board games when the baby was sleeping. It was great that all we needed to bring were our personal belongings because everything else was already provided, a true home away from home! We are looking forward to going back in the summer for a completely different experience, knowing that it will definately be just as relaxing and fun as the first time. Thank you Monica for creating such a special place and thank you to her family for sharing it with everyone else!

We were looking for a relaxing holiday and got just that when we stayed at the cottage. There was plenty of room to comfortably fit the whole family and the open plan of the kitchen and lounge was convenient. The separate granny flat was a plus for extra family joining us. Tuross is a beautiful place to relax with clean beaches and cafes near the cottage. I look forward to holidaying in tuross again and I will definitely stay at this house again.
