The Eurobodalla has many beautiful walks – both for those who like a short and scenic amble, and those who like to challenge themselves. The following walks are located quite close to Tuross Head.
Coila Lake to the Boatshed – for an easy and scenic walk, take the cycleway along the shores of Coila Lake and follow it around the coast to the boat ramp on Tuross Lake. Make sure to take the short path out to iconic One Tree Point. You may even spot seals, dolphins or whales. It is also a good vantage point to see some of the local surfers in action.
Bingie Dreaming Track – this 16km (one way) track extends from Congo Headland to Tuross Head, or you can access from Bingie which is halfway. It follows part of the dreaming track which was used by the Brinja-Yuin people. It includes some bush track and some sections along sandy beaches. The track is 8km one way and 16km return from Tuross to Bingie Bingie Point. Leave 6 hours. Grade: Moderate.
Mill Bay Boardwalk, Wagonga Inlet, Narooma – this is an easy, wheelchair and pram friendly walk that starts on the northern side of Wagonga Inlet at Mill Bay. The boardwalk is 350m one way. There is a walk/cycle path that is 1km one way. The walk starts at the boat ramp of Centenary Drive on the northern side of the inlet.
Broulee Island Walk – Broulee Island is situated south of main beach and is joined to the mainland by a sandbar. It features native plants and birdlife. Length of walk is 4km and should take 2 hours. Grade: Moderate.
Mystery Bay to 1080 Beach (Eurobodalla National Park) – park at Mystery Bay beach and walk to the entrance of the National Park. Walk to Pooles Beach and continue along track for an hour to 1080 Beach. Return the same way or along the beach, depending on the tide. Length of track is 5km return and should take about 2 hours. Grade: Moderate.
Gulaga (Mt Dromedary) – an important Mountain and landscape for Aboriginal people, especially to the Yuin women of the NSW South Coast. The track was built in 1894 for gold miners and starts behind Pam’s Store in Tilba Tilba. The track is 14km return. Allow about 5 hours. Grade: Hard.
